This wooden heart Buckeye Burl wood carving would be a loving Wedding Gift. This wood wall heart would go great in any rustic cabin decor or any home for that matter. This blue and yellow coloring is very unique in wood. I am Gary Burns the treewiz and I carved everything in my shop. I can personalize any of my hearts by inscribing a message on the back for no extra charge if it is something simple like a short sentence and date. It measures 15 3/4" tall x 11 1/8" wide x 7/8" thick. It comes ready to hang on the wall.

There are some interesting features in this piece of wood. There is a bit of bark inclusion. It is a pretty solid piece of Buckeye. I love the organic feel of the Buckeye. These are really special pieces to me. These Buckeye pieces have a really sweet energy about them from the very beginning. It's not for those who want a blemish free Heart. But what is a perfect heart? This heart shows the traces of a Trying, Bumpy Journey but is still so very full of Love. Life just isn't easy over the years. There is much in Life that is testing and gives us contrast and value for the amazing moment until maybe every moment is amazing. I wouldn't want it any other way.

The colors in this wood are so warm and there is a lot of character to the color contrast. This is a piece of Buckeye Burl. It is a very rare wood. It grows in the foothills of the Sierra's in California. It grows in the Eastern US but this is a little bit more like a small bushy tree rather than a large trunked tree like in the East. It is a tricky tree to harvest because of the clay soil it grows in. When the soil is dry, it is harder than the wood. When the soil is wet, it is too slippery for the back hoe to get in and dig it out. The cost of the wood adds a lot to the price of the Heart. This piece was really expensive but it is hard to find pieces that will work at all. I had this piece for some time and couldn't figure how to use it. I pondered many options before I went with this design. Not only is it expensive and tricky to design but packing and shipping play a large part in the price as well. This is why the Buckeye pieces are more expensive than the other woods for their size. It is a root burl so there aren't a lot of solid pieces as the burl is mixed in with the roots and grows right around rocks and dirt pockets. It can make it tricky to work sometimes if there is a rock inside when you go to mill it or start working it. It is very challenging but really worth the extra effort. I feel very blessed to have a few pieces of Buckeye to work with.

This piece is flat on the back so it can hang on the wall. I have fastened a metal self leveling hanger on the back for hanging and it is signed Wiz on the back.
